Author notes
Every few years, schools adopt new textbooks (if they have the funding), and these vendors frequent conferences. Sometimes the teachers get to have some input in the choices. I remember seeing them at the conferences I attended with my parents. No, there were no censored text books – at least not in West Virginia. In my school, we saw the opposite effects. Usually phalluses and profanities added to various texts by the previous text book recipients. This was, of course later in my schooling. In grade school, we were required to purchase our own EXPENSIVE text books. :P Only later did our school system become logical by providing us with books each year.
