I'm really trying to link up many of the loose threads about Abbey's past here, so let me know if things are still too murky.

Remember, Adrani is Abbey's mother, Tolstoy was the youngest recruit in Lytton's regiment, and everyone (except Tolstoy, because he was in a coma after having been sniped through the spine) with the RJFH strain went crazy and triggered a massive mutiny/murder spree (the Injiu mutiny) that spiraled out of controlled and decimated a continent. Lytton is Abbey's father. Scut was Nals' son. Nals was Lytton's gnoph. Scut also carried the egg that became Lyss (his sister, technically) and infected William. William is not anywhere in these pages.
