The Brownies in the tower are not the most friendly towards our Goblin hero. In this scene the old Brownie figures he can get a clean ceiling above his head if he just turns the flagstone over so that the dirty moss covered side is in the hallway above him.
The labyrinth is one of my all time favorate movies. One of the best scenes in the movie is when they illustration how utterly impossible the labyrinth is to navigate is when Sarah gets the great idea to make markings so she doesn't get lost. However, the Labyrinth's residents take exeption to this graffti when they start to remove the marks like so.
By the by, there are some famous paintings hanging in the hallway of this Wizard's Tower.
