[180] Invasion: Recurrance

Today, I'm going to rant about my family again

They're starting to really piss me off these days. Many teens complain their parents don't understand them. My parents won't even make an effort to.

It's time for me to decide what I'm doing after school, which I have. I picked out the university I'm going for (Which needs to take me to stay afloat) and the career (Teaching. There's a big need for more male teachers in NSW)

Here's where the issues start. My mother has dragged me to several open days and forced me to consider every opportunity, even ones I can't try. I think you have to have good eyesight to be a doctor and I won't get much respect as a lawyer if I wear my sunnies all the time.

Police? My medical history means there's no chance in hell I could even try. Music? I play as a hobby, not a career. Athlete? See police.

So why a primary school teacher? I'm good with kids, none of my problems conflict with teaching and the pay's pretty good actually.

The problem is, my mother will not rest until I pick something other than my first choice. It's the same with clothes shopping. And when my dad decided I had to learn an instrument, I went for saxaphone originally before she told me to pick something else (Guitar was my second choice). Even when I first asked Amy out, my mother told me to ask another girl out just in case I picked the wrong one

And it's not just stuff for me. I pick out Soul and Gold's presents and when I have something they'll love, she won't give me the cash until I've gotten them something else.

Now, the main problem is she didn't suggest what I picked out. She has to tell me the options and then I have to pick one of those. It's a big control issue unfortunately. My entire family has it.

And they all wondered why I was so enthusiastic about leaving

Until next time
