[273] Beyond: Gift

Never did like the sprite for that character, so I'm replacing it.

So I'm checking the mail and I finally have a note from the valentines girl. She says she's glad I'm showing some interest in her and says she'll finally meet me. So I go to the new place, wait an hour or two (Brought a book this time) and then, right as I'm leaving, I hear a voice asking about me.

I turn and it's the last person I expected. Her name was Elinor, an old friend of mine. She used to be a big girl and was constantly teased for it until my problems came along and I took the barrage. Now, she's lost a lot of weight and looks very nice (I've met her a few times since Primary school and we chatted. Good thing too, otherwise I'd have never recognised her)

So I sit down with her and we get talking. Apparently it all started back when I used to club guys over the head for teasing her (Raised with chivalry) and then she started to feel really bad when all her problems became mine. That's when she starts apologising for everything. For not sticking up for me like I used to for her. Not helping me out when I was in so much pain I could barely move, etc.

This got me thinking. Now, she was probably the only one who I didn't absolutely hate back then, and yet she's probably the only one who feels guilty about it. She did nothing and hates herself for it, while every one else thinks it was just a game and laugh over everything. It is a weird thing, guilt.

Any way, she said she knew I was taken, but she just wanted to get it off her chest. We decided just friends for now and whatever happens in the future will tell us what should be. Also, she told me she had been declining others for a while so I told her to stop. She's a nice girl, she should have some one who makes her feel good (As long as they aren't a complete dick)

And that was how I solved a mystery that took me seven years.
