[401] Rebirth: Mage Hate

I just realised that I completely forgot to tell you guys where to find Insanity Complex yesterday. It'll be going up on ClovenHand, kind of like how Amelius has Charby, Villiany Minor and Nightschool on DD and Unlife is Unfair on CH.

Yesterday, I went with my sister to go see 'Superbad'. What did I think of it? Well, I have many thoughts.

It was easy to see how it came from '40-year-old Virgin' and 'Knocked Up' people. The twisted humour, the sometimes random, pointless conversations that just seemed to work.

And now, a warning, there are spoilers.

The movie follows two plots. One is a pair of friends trying to get some alcohol for a party so they can get laid by two girls they really like. One being the kid from Arrested Development. The second plot comes in a little later in the movie where their geeky, awkward friend gets a fake ID and gets their booze, when the liquor store gets robbed, cops come and they try to show him that cops know how to have a good time.

The first side is what I shall discuss here. Here we have two losers with very minimal sexual experience thinking only with their dicks. Well, the Arrested Development kid wants a serious relationship, but he thinks with his dick half the time as well. I actually liked that they both got pretty close, but not close enough to get any. Then they meet up with their girls and get an excuse to hang out with them. It's quite a nice ending really, with some pretty gross jokes in between.

Second, the kid and the cops. What the hell is up with that kid picking the name 'McLovin'? That's his only name on the fake ID? as if it wouldn't look suss. And the cops drink-driving and competing to see who can get the highest point on a breathalyser and shooting stuff. What scares me is that there is a high likelyhood that there are cops like that somewhere in the United States police force.

I recommend to fans of American Pie, Road Trip and especially Not Another Teen Movie. Of course, those movies have more half naked girls, so if you're only into those movies for the boobs, don't go see this movie.
