[460] Interrogation: Anti's Problems

Yep, the Anti_kid has a lot on his plate. Now he's got that damn Aussie becoming all distracting and such. This is a few hours late, I know, but I had all that work for Fowl Play to do. In any case, I got you guys the page.

So today I finally reread the Fatum Chronicles book and all I can say now is 'what a crock of shit!' I mean, it's not bad for a first try, but I can see why I only got 150 pages of story. Hell, if I wrote that out today, I'd probably be able to extend it to 290. That mean writing the story from scratch (I find it hard to edit my work).

But why did I reread the damn thing? Well, last year I was helping a fellow author write out her first book. A little gothic tale involving vampires and hunters. Well, after all this time, it's finally done. Just need to put it through some editing and it'll be ready for publishing.

Now, I can focus on my other work, which has grown to 60 pages and is nowhere near complete. I'm trying to get this one up to 240 pages, although I do have hope I can climb all the way to 350 or some big number like that. So far it's been fun.

Which brings me to discuss an old favourite trick of writers to get their projects done. They rent a hotel room, bringing only a laptop (Or maybe a lot of paper and a few pens) and a comfortable set of clothes and discard all distractions, staying up all night until they finish it.

What I would like to know is, if you locked an art team in a room together with that sort of situation, would you be able to get a really good comic done in one night? I know comics usually take hours, but if you have someone writing, showing the others and directly telling them what they want, then the penciller draws and hands the page over to the inker, which a second page is drawn, then the inker hands over the inked page to the colourist, takes the second page while the penciller makes the third page and the writer comes up with the fourth page, then the letterer does their thing and so on and so forth.

Anyway, I think that that would be a good idea. You could get something like a DC/Marvel grade comic book (Hopefully all the people involved are at that level) done in maybe two or three nights. Do this every week, you could have 50 issues within the year. Of course, that could be too many, so maybe only do it to create a buffer and get started, also maybe if you're on a deadline.

Just a little idea of mine. Hopefully some of you comic makers will try that out and be able to make a buffer for your online comics

Until next time
