[536] Quest: Decisions

Absolutely insane, paranoid and unreasonable. Descending so far that he could not even save himself. When presented with one final choice, to end the fighting, he chose to continue, despite being so severely injured already (If you look carefully, you'll see I actually put some black eyes on the sprite).

Close to 150 pages ago when I planned all this, I had to make some tough choices so that the story would work. This underlying plot of insanity was one of them. Let it be known, Kevin was not my first choice, but after a while he was the one who just seemed to work best in that situation. If you go back through the archives, you can see why.

For those of you who can't see how it happened, let me explain. It was shown that before the Bounty saga, Kevin was the equivalent of a superhero in some city. Then, Aussie killed him (Accidentally, but still). Anyway, so Kevin spends some time in limbo, and is then forced into a plot to restore mortality (Again, this was caused by Aussie) and in doing so, was killed by Anti (Who came from Aussie). He had absolutely every right not to trust Aussie, and so when given a reason not to, he immediately grasped onto it and held on so tight it destroyed him.

Something else you should know is that I absolutely hate to torture my characters, especially when they're based on someone real and someone I know. That's why I could never write a decent comedy series. In those, they need to be met with misfortune so that jokes can be made. I try to avoid that stuff when I can. But I knew I would have to do it some day, so I pushed myself and succeeded. Whether I should be happy or not is still a question I'm trying to answer.

So yeah, if you're reading this, sorry Kevin but you were sacrificed so that I could evolve. Hopefully this will prove to provide an even more enjoyable comic in the future. And I also hope that my future projects, and knowing me there will be plenty more, will be able to live with a improved storytelling over my previous ones.

Until next time
The Aussie Kid
