[571] Destiny: Family Reunion

I really missed these two. After all, they're family. But ever since the nature of GG changed, they were like the big brother from Happy Days who once went upstairs and never came down again.

But, exactly 350 pages since they departed, the other two original good guys have returned. That's also another reason behind the filler yesterday. I like round numbers. And on Friday another old face will appear.

So, yesterday I talked about a competition in which everyone who entered had to put up a real page of their comic every day. Well, the guantlet has been thrown and Rokas and I are going to be battling it out. The winner is the one who can keep to schedule longer than the other, or is the first to reach ten fans. The prize is that the loser must do everything in their power to promote the winner's comic for a fortnight.

However, a little bet between friends isn't as exciting as being in a mass tournament, of sorts, with several others in the fray. That is why I am proposing more of you guys enter. I'm not going to make this a mass announcement, becuase I don't need to monitor 80 different comics every day, but maybe ten would do.

So, if you want to enter, here's the rules:

1. You need to start a new comic and, starting this Monday, the 9th of December, update once every weekday. Any more does not count, any less and you're out. At least one page or strip on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. No excuses.

2. Fillers and guest works do not count.

3. One author per comic. This is an exercise in helping us grow as writers and artists, so it's just not right to cheat. And don't worry about how bad your art is, it'll get better.

4. No sprite comics, cut and paste or photos. And no repetitive use of quoting movies and the like (Parodies are fine, or just making fun of something). As I said above, this is to develop writing and art skills.

5. Both strips and full pages are allowed, along with both serious and comedy. All pages must be fully inked and lettered, unless you want to go with pencil tones like Megatokyo or Misfile. Colour is optional.

Now, you guy might be wondering "What do I get out of this, aside from experience and new skills?" and to that, I have the list of following prizes:

1. If the competition ends before January 31st, then the winning comic will receive free promotion for a fortnight.

2. If it lasts longer than that, then the winner will have their choice of any three items at indyplanet.com.

3. If your comic is featured during the contest, you will win a publishing deal with AK Productions.

If you want to enter, then simply post here and then on Monday, come back with the name of the comic that you wish to sign up. And no, no money is required to enter this competition.

Hope we get some entries and I will see you all on Friday.

Until next time
The Aussie Kid
