I'm not sure I can explain why, but jokes where characters are just confused but trying to speak in short bursts are…just funny to…me…yeah.
If I'd had more time and artistic talent, Panel 3 would have been a much more Yaoi-ish picture for comedic effect. I'm not good at drawing characters hugging. I think it's because all of my characters have huge heads and little arms that makes the posing super awkward.
