A word or two on how Fred and I worked… We cowrote everything. The original Grey legacy universe (characters, concepts, images, etc.), came from both of us, separately and through hours of conversation/collaboration. We did thumbnails and layouts together, both throwing out ideas until we were satisfied. The dialogue was done in much the same fashion. It's been long enough that I really couldn't tell you exactly who came up with what. Fred then did full pencils and lettering (hand lettered with an Ames Guide… this was in the days before easy access to fonts). I then inked the whole thing. I use a bottle of ink and a brush, the old-fashioned way (I still do). The only pen lines on these pages are the ruled lines.
