I finally got tired of photoshop messing up on me. Not only does it take freaking forever to load but the pen pressure is a touch and go process so I went back to PaintShop pro x9. I lost the all capital text but that's a small price to pay for the ultimate customizable interface.
The reason I said back to is way back in 2008 I used it when I started Insanity of Xade, but ironically, if memory serves, I was having pen pressure issues and I liked the layer effects of photoshop. Anyway, after watching a crash course on PSP, I quickly settled in, figured out how to do my text balloons/borders, set up a few brushes for the lines and actual drawing and went to town. Along the way, I customized the keyboard layout to somewhat mimic photoshop, the wand tool for example and added a couple of my own. To streamline my process, I added a toolbar of my most used commands under the tools on the left as I wrapped up the comic, and a second one of my often used or probably will use beside the standard on top.
I still kept and upgraded my copy of PSP when I could because of various tools like the change to target and the ever-popular picture tubes, often making my own for random effects. Anyhow, it's late so I'm off
