Comeback Kid
teddibaer onI redid this page so many times. The previous page has a rather full-bodied version of White Hole, and therefore incorrect, although beautiful. I started drawing the same thing in the last three panels. Apparently I had been possessed by the force of fan service. By all means, ogle at her sultry curves while she shoots you in the face.
Anyway, I resized her body. Then the arms. Then the head. Oh the head. Aw, crud now the neck's too long. That's how it went.
Then I decided to color it really cool and bought a book and learned how to use four different shades for lighting and a new concept of "rim lighting." So of course I had to use Photoshop. Photoshop doesn't agree with me like Flash. As a result, I had to redraw the lines with a stylus. For those of you that don't have tablets, it's really hard to relearn your manual/visual connection.
Then I actually did the color separation which took me, like, nine hours. At the third panel, I filled in the base color and said, "That looks good enough." Which made the first two panels look like she's glowing with magical energy, which makes no sense. So I filled in the brighter colors and got the effect you see now, which made me go, "Okay, I can do at least that." And I did.
On the fly, I figured that the only reason White Hole would do a hit is if Rosencron made her do it as a union fee or something. I might still go with the clone theory. Introspectively, it's probably a bad thing when the writer doesn't even know what's going to happen.
I have no clue where the title came from. Part of it is that this is my comeback into the community, but I don't think I'm really back yet.
