The lack of background is meant to emphasise the two guys beating the tar out of each other and the fact that they are only paying attention to each other.
Don't worry, when things calm down it reappears.

oooh, magic ghost sword! I like the bright colors as they add to the energy of a fight, but I kinda miss the church background. I understand why you wouldn't want to keep drawing it though. XD
