Dreaming
Little Swan onIf we are asleep, our body is only ticking over, but is not doing anything.
Therefore, do we dream just so that our brain remains busy enough to stay alive? Does our brain create situations in order to give it something to do while it regulates breathing and whatnot? Is our brain able to keep breathing/growth & repair, blood flowing, temperature regulation etc going while it is not a part of the real world? Or does it generate its own world to keep it alive, to give it something active to do so it doesn't sink into a nothingness of regulation and therefore cease to exist and eventually we die as it is moving so slowly?
Does dreaming stop the auto-pilot from switching off?
Is our brain afraid to die, or is does it miss the waking world?
Is it simply bored?
And how does this effect people that do not dream? Or do they actually dream but simply cannot remember?
What do you guys think?
