Ah the Heavy Mech tradition of the Eyecatch. Born from back in the day
when I was under some strange assumption that eyecatchs in comics where a
thing (ala Shonen Jump having two chapters of a manga in each issue).
I'm not even sure "eyecatch" is a word; now that I think about.

But nuts too it, think of it as sort of a variant cover.
