And away we go!

The 12th story at Hentai Action Theater is… Capsukai, based on everyone's childhood favorite game and anime series about those adorable capsule monsters you carry around to, uh… challenge each other to magic cockfights for money, and, er, try not to get killed in the monster-infested wilderness before you're old enough for high school.

OK, OK, it's a spoof of Pokemon… and Digimon, Yokai Watch, Nexomon, Temtem, Monster Crown… Ni No Kuni? Maybe a little of all of the SMT and Persona games? Xenoblade has that aspect? I'm sayin' that "games and/or anime/manga where you fight by collecting summonable monsters" is a pretty damn big genre.

Don't know anything about Pokemon? I'll admit upfront: I've never seen an episode. I HAVE played the heck out of many of the games, along with some of the other games I mentioned. But really, if you know that there are these games where suspiciously young kids collect dangerous magical animals and fight them for cash, and there are silly rivalries and such… you're overqualified. I considered watching some as research for this, but I decided that I didn't WANT Capsukai to be specifically a spoof of THAT franchise. It's its own thing (like Star Warp was), and you don't need to know an Eevee from a… I dunno, mudkip or some damn thing… to get 90% of the jokes.

Does it get dirty? Aw, look at those adorable kids and that cute little Zappirat. That's almost the last you'll see of them – check the "season number" in the title for how long has passed. Yeah, Bedlam_Boy hasn't gone nuts, this is still a comic ABOUT adults. Don't worry, though – I'm sure those kids won't grow up with any issues from living the way they do, wandering the wastelands making their magical friends for enough money to get by. For now, just enjoy the wholesomeness… while it lasts.
