Along with yesterday's Relik page, this one forms half of an epic double-feature of awesomeness by Josh Holley!

So, continuing my comment on the previous page: In the finale of Shades, it was revealed that Dominion made a deal with the British government. So, my guess was that he was the one who came up with the idea to make the best of their possessing the artefact… which means, use it in Iraq. (Now that I'm thinking about it, Afghanistan seems to be the better place, but hey - it's comics, right? :D) Shades doesn't tell us about the political consequences of Bedlam's & Credo's coup, but again I just took a guess that what happened was what always happens - more security laws are passed!! :D

The appearance of "the Guardian", the green demon in panels 3 and 4, was requested by Bleeder's creator, lustyJin. Apparently, it hunts whoever wears the gauntlet Bleeder is now wearing. I tried to use this part of her backstory to flesh out her personality; in my mind, the constant pressure makes her jumpy and paranoid, and whenever she can't hide behind her cheery radio persona, she tends to be acerbic.

As you can see from these comments, the main challenge about this story was weaving separate threads together. (Not all of them form a coherent tapestry, but that's life, I guess.) Bleeder, Peligroso and the Shades tie-in form the "mystic" part of the tapestry.
