25. Prologue: Red Reaper

In which the artist is lazy with backgrounds. 
The next three pages should come pretty quickly since two of them are basically text. After this page, there are only two more pages in the prologue (finally!). The third page is the title page of Chapter One. If all goes as planned.
As to the answer to Isaac's question in the last panel, under normal circumstances one would logically assume those tears might have something to do with the leg he dscarded in page 11 (I think it would be a safe to say that after riping off your own leg you might have a little cry, or, more likely, go into shock for loss of blood as your severed femoral artery spewed like the dyke without the Little Dutch Boy for about five minutes until you died). However, as I mentioned in the same page (11), Isaac is not what anyone would call "normal". He's got some very interesting immune mechanisms. For instance, by now his body has already clipped the nerve endings in and around his injuries which temporarily reduces his ability to feel pain. He also has some fantastic clotting factors which is why he hasn't bled out. Add that to the fact that this is not the first time he's had an injury like this (granted, the others were not quite so bad…) and his muted reaction becomes a little more reasonable. The tears, therefore, are of purely emotional origin. Tends to happen after a Mercy Kill (see Tropes for details ^_^).
