There are a lot of establishing shots on these first few pages, which was the main reason why I decided to update daily for now. Wouldn't want to fill a whole week with a page like this! But this is the last full-page establishing shot for a while, promise! ^^;
Also, you might have noticed I've gone back to gray-scaling, which I had abandoned after the first chapter of signifikat (and I was quite happy with the "pure" b/w art). One reason why I've gone back to doing it is that I can do it much faster now. But mainly, I think it works wonders for the atmosphere. It's like an old b/w sci-fi movie… (actually, there is one movie which has particularly influenced this comic, which wasn't in b/w… I can't reveal which it was though, because that would be telling! And no, it wasn't 2001… except that 2001's influence might always be felt in my work, no matter what I do!)
Anyway, I'm also using a sort of zip-a-tone effect here and there (most notably on the very first page, but it's on this one too, in a much more subtle way).
sux: Hey, once again, that's exactly what I was going for. Like, you're taking a peek right over the edge into a bottomless pit. I cheated a bit because it doesn't go straight down though :3 Thanks!
Fitz: Yeah, I kind of wanted the caption out of the way… I considered moving parts of what is now on page 2 to this and/or the previous page… but I appreciate the "silence" here. As for the broken off handle - it could be both, so I'm keeping my mouth shut! :P Well, I can tell you this much: The station is in pretty bad shape altogether, as you will soon see.
DAJB: Okay, thanks!
Nepath: Haven't heard of it, will check it out!
JNP: You're getting a nose bleed from heights? Well, at least it's not the "Japanese" type of nosebleed! ^_^
Genejoke: Thank you very much!
man in black, Zephyrion, mmm bacon0, Jabali: Thanks!
