I'd highly appreciate it if everyone who hasn't voted in the dd awards tie breaker poll would do so now - and, um, preferrably for my own comic, signifikat :D (Today is the last chance, and signifikat is quite a bit behind…) And thanks again to everyone who already voted!

Updating daily.
Hey, look – a page with actual panels! :D
This was definitely the most tricky page of the first few… or, I should say, the page I dreaded doing the most. Because I had to get the first appearance of the protagonist right, meaning I had to have a proper character design first.
You might have noticed that on signifikat, the protagonist (whom I later named Ed - yeah, that's right: later :P) went through a bit of a design change. That's only natural, because when you're drawing a character for the hundredth time, you know better what works and what doesn't than when you're drawing him for the second time. But, as understandable as it is, in terms of art direction it's still your personal failure if the character design changes! So, the only real solution is (except *snicker* being professional about it): be vague about your designs for as long as you can afford to be. On signifikat, Ed's nose grew considerably during the first three chapters or so. So when I put together the first collection, I went back and redrew his nose in an early panel… (one reason for you to buy any print version of signifikat, because of the redrawn nose! ^_^) But because I was vague, I didn't have to redraw it in every panel! (Which I wouldn't have done anyway :P) Lesson learned.
Thanks for reading and commenting!

DAJB: Haha… already sounds like a title to me!
Genejoke: I'm glad you checked it out too! :P
Nepath: Glad you are!
sux: Heh… I guess it's ok as long as nobody else notices ^_^
Lemniskate: Der Horror! Der Horror! Was für eine schreckliche, schreckliche Zukunft… :O (Das ware eine Premiere: das erste Mal, dass ich einen Kommentar für einen meiner dd-Comics auf deutsch verfasse!)
JNP: Is that a pun? "Knows" -> "nose"? Sorry for asking, but hey, you never no. As for design changes - well, you are right, in a way. It's just that my ideal is having a proper character model, which I almost never bother coming up with ^_^ So, most minor changes would be due to laziness - not putting in the effort to come up with a consistent design. That's the "failure", really. But I do like "evolutionary" changes :3 And no, it's NEVER too late! You could just say that the comic that comes in second will be a finalist. That would be a proper rule! But hey, I acknowledge weave as a more than worthy competitor, so it's all good :D And I wish I could have nominated The Devon Legacy more often, but as it is, I don't really know in which category to nominate it! I need to read MORE to find out about its true strengths.
Zephyrion, man in black, mmm bacon0, Jabali: Thanks!
