The "play it for me" line is (of course) meant to evoke the "sing it for me" scene from 2001 - A Space Odyssey.

The last line of dialogue on signifikat was a Mansun quote. So, this next quote has been a long time coming :P Of course, it's… all… gonna… mean… something… way down the line. For now, it's an homage to a band that has completely changed my mental soundscape. For a complete multimedia experience, please read this comic while listening to this.

Now, you might be wondering: Why does cogito have information about a band from a thousand years ago, which, even today, isn't all that well known? Doesn't this contradict what was said on page 12? Well, the truth is: information from earthly culture has been preserved very selectively. The principles of this selection shall be revealed at the beginning of the next chapter!
