So, this is Professor Sievert, whose dead, rotting body we'd seen on the last page of the previous chapter. His appearance here is based on Stanislaw Lem, the author of Solaris, a huge inspiration for this comic.

Also, this isn't the first time the idea of simulating neural patterns via plasma currents turns up in my work. I had set up the same idea in a story arc for A.D 1997, almost ten years ago. And that was before I had seen Solaris… :p
