Yes, the main character from these stories always looked this way in my mind. Folks are going to ask, I know, why I chose this look for her: is it a Manga sellout?
She appeared fully formed in my mind 30 years ago, long before I'd even heard of Manga. Besides, she's alien; an Imperial patrol ship rescued a floating lifepod and found her inside, near death. When she recovers she has no recollection whatsoever of who she is and where she comes from.
The old amnesia angle, done to death? Not…really. The insidious truth behind Tara's amnesia is far more terrible than anyone could have ever imagined.
