"gushy" and "oozy" refers to vomit, flem, snot, puss, and all of the other things our immune systems come up with. Drake's slightly reptilian, and so gets different symptoms. Not a great deal of empathy, but a great deal of impatience on his part.

Poor Joan, she simply can't muster the strength to hoist herself up.
