after the last page some of you may be thinking "what? Vampires? WTF dai?" so, a short explanation. I love vampires, but don't love the way they're done in many stories. After some friends showed me the end of Buffy, and, despite some of the amusing dialouge, I was left going "those are the saddest vampires I have ever seen," I decided to try my hand at vampires. I'm geing into this well-aware of how often vampires are used, I just want to see what I can do with the genre.
Some others of you may be thinking "Red Cross? like the hospital people?" much of this comic is nostalgic, and one of my favorite childhood book was the Red Cross Knight, an issutraited section of the Fairie Queen. The knight fights a dragon, gets killed three or four times, gets revived each time, and finaly kills the poor, confused dragon. The Knights Templar also used the read cross on a white feild as their emblem (white for their purity as monks, red for their violence as warriors). In my story the Order of the Red Cross started as a organization for fighting Solifidians, and now it also does things like enforce treaties ect.
oh yes, and replies from the last page: re Rina_ran: Both of the boys will get their chance to rend and tear, never fear.
re Mina_Lunga: aye, the city was another one of those things that seemed good in the planning stages but ended up flopping
re lunamoon_3: I get bruised doing saber too, but I've gotten used to it (quote from fencing class: "My right arm isn't working anymore." "well then use your left, duh"). The fellow I usualy fight is crazy strong, but I can get in one or two good welts too, so I'm happy. Cerise is also in my class, but we're nicer to each other.
re Cerise: typos fixed, thanks Cerise.
re emjee: yeah, I'm working on getting more variety in my fave shapes, the vamp's face should be slightly longer ans skinnier.
re Cheeko: indeed
re pv_chan: in a demented sort of way
re ccs1989: nice if obnoxious humans or violent monster, hmmm…
re LimboWoman: he might just tear out your heart you know
