I'm really sorry that these updates are comming so slow. I am realy trying guys, but my days are being filled with teaching children how to paint, sorting out bunk disputes…and performing Bohemien Rapsody with sock puppets.

It's sort of hard for Drake to be an argumentative jerk when the other person is already a sad little being. Joan argues back, but giving Teddy a hard time is sort of like kicking a dead horse. Plus Drake still regaurds Teddy as like a little kid.

As far as finding a crossing place goes, my understanding of the vampire stories is that the larger the river and swifter the current, the more of a barrier the water is, so if they can find a shallow part with a weak current they'll be able to get Teddy across.
