Teddy just cannot catch any breaks can he?

Silver didn't used to be part of the old vampire myth, but it's pretty widespread now, so it would influence Bahamoot. If Teddy touches it with bare skin it will burn him, hence the cloth wrapping. He was probably planning to hold onto it, despite the obvious difficulties because of the sentimental value, but cuts his dad a break instead and entrusts it to his keeping.
