…well, at least Lucien and Birkita took down a few troops with them.

In case you were wondering why the attackers didn't take any of the jewelry, it's because there was fear of the misfortune that tends to follow thieves of dragon treasure, and because loot like dragon blood is worth more than its weight in gold (and strangely enough does not have the same superstitions attached to it).

re khard12: the defenses were actually set up very well, they were just designed to prevent violence breaking out between the dragons which had been a real problem. They didn't even consider the possibility of a human attack so it wasn't planned for.
