and the villain of the flashback finally makes his appearance.

For those of you who had guessed from the chapter title, yes George as in the Saint, the Dragon Slayer and The Red Cross Knight. He's in full armor because, well that how he's always shown and he's a person who Bahamut would effect particularly strongly. It is heinously uncomfortable, but given that this is the time when hair shirts were popular I'm not sure that he would consider that a negative.

re Rina_ran: thanks ^_^ its always nice whenever you drop by, and as long as you enjoy it I'm happy.

re Mikato: yeah, and for vengeance-oriented creatures like dragons getting a crack at vengeance is important.

re Mina_Lunga: hmm, hadn't really thought about that. They took mostly blood and hearts because those have the highest magic-to-size ratio. I know that for medical purposes blood has to be refrigerated, but I don't know what exactly goes wrong with it if you don't (I guess that's more your area). They'd be the most potent fresh, but for long-term use they could dry the hearts and powder the blood if it doesn't keep its magic in liquid form.

re Mykell: true, and every religion has its crazy zealots. I think that says more about humanity as a whole rather than the religion itself.

re Cthonic Cultist: well, Drake's setting himself up for a sneak attack. Not quite a full stab in the back, but putting himself at a definite advantage.
