I think this attitude comes directly from "diets" Diets always depend on some way on "tricking" your body into losing weight without nessecarily having to eat healthy, like eating no carbs, or eating no gluten, or eating only grapefruit. And if you cheat you wanna do it all in one day.
When you're just eating healthy you don't need to worry about the "tricking your system" crap. So if you cheat, fine, don't beat yourself up about it, just try to do better next time, and don't use it as an excuse to cheat more.
