This device was an old stile ellipsoidal reflector before even I was in High School. I kept this thing as a souvenir of my lighting days, but now it’s been recycled.

The truth is that was never very good at its job and has been replaced with a better light. What you’re looking at is the theatre equivalent of an Apple 2E. They made a lot of them, and they were big in their time, but now they’re just junk.
