"IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU."
I used to take great offense when someone'd say that to me. I would
take it as them implying I was self-centered, or being narcissistic.
Maybe they were. However, like anything else, there's more than one way
to perceive something.

These days I'm more inclined to believe that a statement like that is
inferring that we don't need to accept the blame, and fault of
everything that goes wrong. 
It was at these moments of 'problems' that I
would more than likely hear this statement.
The details of my past are inconsequential.  I will say I spent a lot my youth being made to feel guilty about even existing.  I know…'boo-hoo' . 
I have made great strides in reprogramming.  It's exhausting apologizing for everything.
Solipsism is not for me.  It's liberating to know that I'm not the center of the universe.
We all are.
Sorry to sermonize.  I thought this interesting enough to put out there.
