this page was a great (failed) experiment. someone suggested i try coloured pencils, since at the time it seemed like watercolours and markers were both easy peasy lemon squeezy when i put them to use.

unfortunately, the rough sketch paper, cheap pencils and my own general incompetance with the coloured pencils resulted in this disaster. the pencils themselves skipped on the rough paper, causing a zillion white blotches. the colours were still very bright, and the characters wound up 'lost' in the background. i abandoned it, and went back to watercolours immediately.

i'm also aggravated at the awkward way drakia's introduction was handled. bah! and she becomes so important later!
