I must really be mean to you guys, two cliffhangers for the weekend in a row. Sorry, I'm just having fun using my new techniques for motion. Pay attention to the little details now, something about this page will be mentioned real soon :P I also had to do some minor shading on panel 1 because the outdoor auditorium's edge looked stupid without it showing some depth.
Before you say bullets cannot ricochet like that let me refute that here and now. Hard bullets can and will ricochet off of hard surfaces like cement, hard metal, even dirt and still maintain enough speed to seriously injure or kill someone. (Besides, Alex has some help.:P) A hollow point slug, on the other hand, would shatter against something, and is designed to stop inside a person, even at point blank range. But of course, the pieces of the slug would scatter, causing a much larger hole on exit, which is why on TV the movies show a huge pool of blood under someone killed with a hollow point slug. Solid points would have the same size opening/exit hole, if they exit at all. Arrows can ricochet as well but that's a discussion for another time.
Thus, depending on the bullet, commonly known as slug, it will ricochet. In fact, many old western stars, like Annie Oakley, (my heroine) was renown for being crack shots, like Alex, and able to ricochet slugs around before hitting their targets.
Don't worry, he's not too perfect, and there is a perfectly logical Xadian reason for him being so darned good at shooting, which should surface in a week or two, depending upon how fast I can get over this plot.
unigirl: He had to calculate where both bullets that hit him came from in order to accurately fire his gun. As you can see from this comic he also had to calculate where his own bullet would have to ricochet in order to possibly hit the sniper. That is why I chose such a complicated equation, that is the equation to do so. It took me a long time to find it, so you know I take my comic very seriously when it comes to the little details.
