You should always beware of these yellow critters - they can come out of nowhere. The ability to go off screen and then COME BACK ON THE OTHER SIDE was amazing. It has been deduced that this was because he has special teleport powers (that he had harnessed by eating them).
Pac man was put out of business by Ghost Busters later though, and even though he could teleport, he was restricted to where he could teleport (only to the otherside of where the camera panned to) whereas Ghost Busters could shoot stuff.. and yeah. Poor Pac man.
