Of course, if you douse the computer in water or flame then the computer will not likely have all that data anymore. Though the flames might apply the same to the elephant.
A bang to the head might make an elephant forget. I doubt anyone has tried (and of course too right) but it would be interesting still. And I guess the computer could be hit and smashed to pieces and not works. HOWEVER, you can give the casing of the computer some sort of titanium shielding. Then again, there's armoured elephants. The battle between elephants and computers is fierce!

Getting the elephant to remember what you want to in the first place might be a bit of a problem however, especially since they can't actually relay back what you just told them. They'll just stand there smugly thinking 'yeah I'll remember that heh, but I can't actually speak so.. yeah - why are you asking me to remember this? Although when we take over the world, it could prove useful'. Then there's the problem with the computer of knowing how to use it, and how exactly you tell it to remember what you want to remember. And THEN you have to hope you don't have any malicious stuff floating about on your computer that wants to destroy the data!
