I really wanted to get this out of the way—i wrote it actually before seeing Cloverfield, so, i literally had no idea if the big fucking thing was actually going to turn out to be voltron. (i mean, why not?)

i wouldn't say that i was disappointed–i know that the Defender of the Universe would have little business punching the head off the Statue of Liberty–but with so many liberties taken by Hollywood by excellent 80's cartoon franchises…i didn't know what to expect. I enjoyed the film. I suggest watching it–but keep in mind, this is from a man who has been watching all the Death Wish movies in the past couple of weeks.

Anyway, everybody wish Gabe (IRL) a happy birthday today. Go read his comic(s), linked in the bottom-right corner. It's not every day a man turns 48.
