And that's why Sil-vera's hair is that color. Color is drained out of hair during regeneration. Most people opt to restoring it, Vera didn't. In addition to being a reminder of her service she might have appreciated the irony of her name being Sil-vera and her hair being what Earther language calls "silver". It's certain somewhere along the line someone told her as interest in Earth trivia is not uncommon among Aordians. It is their protectorate after all and the home world of all humans.
