Annotations: A "molly" is, of course, a female cat.
Can you blush through a face full of fur? Well, this is hardly the height of realism, but think that the animal characters within the world have a ton of little signs - smells and what not - that are just as obvious as a blush to a human in reality.
Meanwhile, Monette's rouge definitely exists in the world of the comic - somehow.
