For summer, I'm playing around with different drawing tools and techniques.

And no, the funny animals in the comic don't think of themselves as animals - that's non-anthro and presumably non-sapient beings. The usual term is "beasts" - though a zoologist might be very insistent that techncially, all beasts are animals as well.
