Well, there is magic in this universe (as seen in Dragon City), but I wanted to go with something more science fiction-y for Santa Claus. No real reason, I just haven't seen it done much or at all..except Invader Zim, but this isn't the same thing. They're not replacing Santa. They're taking the spot of a mythological figure.
And despite the Ambis-like ears and pointy noses, these aren't related to Ambis like the Amblians are.
