With this day and age, I don't think the tradition Dyona is describing is being used anymore. It's kind of archaic. Nowadays, brides will wear white regardless…because if they went by this tradition, I don't think that many brides would be married in white.
Not making social commentary, just stating a fact.
For Ambis, this has never been that big of a deal. For dragons (in my other webcomic, Dragon City), they like to be in love and it's hard to get dragons bonded if they haven't made love first. (Though as one arc has proven, it's not impossible.)
