I know they don't go into this, but what they're talking about with armor access codes is that it would be all too easy for an Ambis to infilitrate another Lord's army or whatever, by painting their armor. So each armor's computer is given a code so as to prevent spying. (The Ambis Lords and Ladies can be a bit competitive.)
Kelelder obviously employs this. But the codes are hard to get…unless you're Aranis or Lamerix.
