True, Jix and Remula can talk to each other inside their head, but I wanted to go for more of a Mission Impossible…"This mission, should you choose to accept it…" and "This ship will self-destruct in 5…4…" kind of vibe. 
Plus, I remembered this being done in a short run NBC series called "My Own Worst Enemy" and kept meaning to do it with Jix and Remula.
That and I can make a slight reference to Don't Blink.
Also, I had to redesign Jix's newer shuttle. It was too box shaped…like the Cube of spaceships, which is fine if you happen to like that sort of thing, which I don't. (Though…I had been looking at the Kia Soul at one point, which is fairly box shaped, but went for the more reliable Honda Civic.)
