Bats?

Author notes

Bats?

Chameleon Kid
on

At the risk of sounding like a Nature Nerd…Dog bats roost in caves or tombs and seem to rely on echolocation for flight navigation in these places. They are the only fruit bats to use the phenomenon, so important to the insectivorous bats. They feed on fruit juices and flower nectar and play a useful role as pollinators.

Name: Dog Bat, Rousettus aegyptiacus
Range: Africa, east to India and Malaysia
Habitat: forest; caves, tombs, temples
Size: 11-13 cm (4-5 in) wingspan: 30-45 cm (12-18 in) tail: 1.5 cm (half an inch)

Sorry if my NATURE NERD FACT is out of date or inaccurate–my reference book is rather old. ^///^
