Hey guys, so we're back to China (Mongolia to be specific). I finished manga school today, which I'm actually really sad about. I'm gonna miss trudging to that nerdy little school. I might drop by at their free lessons every now and then. I liked the way they teach. They basically give you something to draw (a pose, facial expression, or for paneling they give you a script to draw a page for) and then the teachers critique your work, it's very interesting to see what other people have done.
It's also fun to see who the people that are trying to become manga-ka are. A lot of them are currently doing NOTHING (a.k.a. no job, no school, nothing) because they want to make it big… takes a lot of work to become a manga-ka. And even after you become one, you apparently have to do part time jobs if you wanna put dinner on the table… but I guess if you make it it's all worth it. I mean, it means you can make a living for what we do for fun, that would be awesome!!!
But for now, I enjoy DDing, no pressure, no deadlines, and there are lots of friends. Can't really talk to your readers much if you're a pro! Well anyway, here's page 2 of my notes. Lots more on paneling coming up, will be some pages from my character drawing class later too (although that teacher didnt lecture us as much so there's less than half). Look forward to it!
