Well, what'd you expect? That he'd know Earth languages already?
Whatever that word means, obviously Al-Kareem mistook it to be "Jupiter" and that's how he got his name.
First mystery of the comic! Is Jupiter really saying his name or something else? Perhaps we may never know.
