As said before, Jupiter has a huge blind spot for his family–that includes his fellow cops. It can be said it's a learned behavior that he can't forget because he loved his wife so dearly (and robots never forget!).

And now we know what Jupiter was thinking about telling Otto way back in chapter three (PG36), and why seeing Otto brings regret to mind.

So! I know there's been a theory going out amongst the readers that Otto is related to Saturn/Barbara in some way. Well, if it isn't obvious by now; no–they're not related. Their only connection is through Otto's father… which I think is the much more impactful climax.
