The creature is supposed to be dissolving, so I hope that comes through.  I felt sorry killing it.  I mean, it gets shot in the back while running away.  But this shows, in part, Tempore's lack of adhesion to a human moral code.  He isn't a hero or a villain–he doesn't care about good or evil.  He only cares about order.
